Lotus Panel Railing

Designed and forged in what we would call a modern classical style, this project involved railings for two staircases and decorative grill work. The home owner and the designer called for a “heavy” and recto linear design that also picked up on the Lotus flower motif that was used in the floor tiling throughout the house. We used clean forged transitions and overly emphasized joinery to accentuate the mass of the railing, whilst incorporating a level of intricacy and detail that can only be achieved with the hot forging process. 2006
